Herbarium

Botanical hand embroidery for garments you already love. Every flower is chosen with care and every stitch carries a story, drawn from the centuries-long tradition of the language of flowers.

Close-up of a person’s hands clasped together, wearing a sage green shirt with dark green embroidered designs on the sleeve, outdoors with blurred greenery in the background.

Every flower chosen with care.
Every stitch a
story told without words. Every garment made irreplaceable.

THE ORIGIN

Herbarium was born from the Victorian tradition of botanical illustration, the practice of documenting plants with extraordinary precision, as both science and art. And from the even older tradition of floriography: the language of flowers, in which every bloom carried a specific meaning, passed between people in silence.

I brought these two worlds into the atelier. Each flower in Herbarium is not simply beautiful — it is meaningful. Each Premium motif carries a literary quotation that extends and deepens that meaning.

The result is embroidery that blooms on fabric the way flowers bloom in nature — with specificity, intention, and a lifespan that outlasts the season.

A young woman stands in front of a large tree trunk, wearing a white button-up shirt with an embroiderer tarot card on the chest and dark blue jeans.
Close-up of denim jeans with sunflower embroidery on the thigh.
A brown blazer jacket hanging on a wooden hanger outdoors on a tree branch, with white floral embroidery near the collar, and green leaves in the background.

WHAT YOU SEE HERE

These are examples of what is possible within Herbarium, shown to give you a sense of scale, mood and possibility. Every commission begins with a conversation about the garment, the flower, and the story you want to carry. Nothing is chosen from a catalogue.

~ 5 CM — COLLAR, CUFF, POCKET

Petite

A small botanical note: discreet, precise, unmistakable. Ideal for those who want a touch of nature without drawing attention. The kind of detail you notice only when you look closely.

A hand-drawn illustration of a postcard with a rose inside and the initials "A.B." written by hand.
A hand-drawn illustration of a postcard with a daisy inside and the initials "C.D." written by hand.
A hand-drawn illustration of a postcard with a sunflower inside and the initials "G.H." written by hand.
A hand-drawn illustration of a postcard with a poppy inside and the initials "E.F." written by hand.

~ 12 CM — SHIRT, T-SHIRT, SKIRT, BAG

Medium

Flowers and light compositions that are noticed without overpowering. Designed for those who want embroidery that reads clearly, a botanical presence that enhances rather than dominates.

Illustration of green vine with leaves and tendrils, titled 'The Enchantress'
Illustration of a bee with yellow and black stripes on its body, transparent wings, surrounded by green leaves, with "The Traveller" written at the bottom.
Hand-drawn botanical illustration of a flowering plant with handwritten notes, titled 'THE BOTANIST' at the bottom.
Hand-drawn illustration of an open book with flowers and leaves emerging from it, surrounded by stars, with the text "THE READER" at the bottom.

~ 25 CM — JACKET, SHIRT, TROUSERS, TRENCH

Premium

A significant botanical composition. Rich, considered, built for structured garments that can carry its weight. Each Premium motif in Herbarium is accompanied by a literary quote, chosen to extend the meaning of the flower.

An illustration of a green fern leaf with four small circles near the stem, accompanied by a quote in Italian about a fern, attributed to Goethe.
A minimalistic gold line drawing of a flower with a stem and leaves, accompanied by a quote in Italian by Oscar Wilde.
A simple drawing of a tulip with an orange flower and green stem and leaves, accompanied by an Italian quote and the name Emily Dickinson written at the bottom.
A neon-style drawing of a sunflower with a quote by Vincent Van Gogh in Italian beneath it, on a white background.

Each Premium flower carries a literary voice, a line chosen to extend what the embroidery cannot say on its own.

The tradition of connecting flowers to language goes back centuries: from Victorian floriography to the poems of Keats, Plath, and Dickinson. In Herbarium Premium, each motif is accompanied by a quote I have selected personally: not decorative, but meaningful. A second layer of intention sewn into the same piece.

Deluxe —
an entire garment.

The maximum expression of Herbarium. A botanical universe designed across the whole surface of a garment — flowers, leaves, stems, and compositions that tell a complete story. For pieces that are meant to be kept, and eventually passed on.

Deluxe commissions have no predefined options. They begin with a conversation and are built entirely from that exchange.

A garment that blooms.

Every Herbarium commission begins with the questionnaire. It asks about the garment, the flower, and the story behind the choice.
