MARTINA DELLA MORA

Hand embroidery
designer

I trained in fashion design at the Politecnico di Milano, then in historical tailoring at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. I have been working with needle and thread, in one form or another, my entire life. Embroiderly is where all of that landed.

THE SHORT VERSION

I grew up obsessed with fabric. At fifteen I got my first sewing machine. At twenty-one I was studying tailoring for opera and ballet at the Scala. From there bespoke ateliers, brand collaborations, and eventually the realisation that what I actually wanted to do was work on garments people already owned and loved.

That is what Embroiderly does: not producing new things, but transforming existing ones completely by hand.

Since January 2025 I have been working independently. I also teach hand embroidery at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, and take on collaborations with fashion brands where the work calls for it.

WHY EMBROIDERLY

Personalised clothing is full of products and nearly empty of craft. I built Embroiderly because I wanted to do the thing properly by hand, at a standard that holds and for garments worth keeping.
